詳細展示　ソフト スペース マシンでは、日本の空間概念における表面、皮膚、身体、動きの関係を和紙から作られた物理的そして、デジタル的な空間構造を通して観察します。ソフトスペースマシンとは、最も広い意味での(超)平面（スーパーフラット）の原則を指し、建築評論家の五十嵐太郎*によれば、これは平面の層を重ねることによって空間性を生み出し,文化的にこれは日本的な思考としても理解できます。着物もこの原則に従い、平面的な幾何学的な層状の平面から作られた 2.5 次元の衣服です。ソフトスペースマシンにて展示する作品は、平らで機械のようなスキンとして現れ、身体、動き、表面の感覚的な相互作用を通じて体験することにより立体化した、（ウェアラブル）アーキテクチャとして空間を再認識させます。

"soft space machines" experimentally explores the relationship between surface, skin, body and movement in Japanese conceptions of space. The spatial and materialized vocabulary of the work – physical and digital spatial structures and chimerical architectonic fragments in various dimensions made from Washi papers derive both from my fascination in soft and transient material and spatial qualities of architectural skins and their relation to body and movement

In the sixth variation of their duo series "The City in the Piano", the two Japanese artists, choreographer and dancer Yui Kawaguchi and composer and pianist Aki Takase invite Gabi Schillig to give shape to the accents of urban life with their architectural fragments. Expressive grand piano, dance-body rhythms and performative architectures lure us into a city full of unique accents and points. Accents that become active again after a period of silence.

Bodies Without Organs* is a spatial landscape – neither an architectural extension nor a furniture. It is a new plateau for virtual and physical communication expanding the body to be a space, while referring to the concept of bwo by Deleuze & Guattari in which a body that is lacking its organs/hierarchical organization and that becomes a fluid and changeable system – a new plateau for exploration and communication.

In the Class for Spatial and Exhibition Design at UdK Berlin, experimental artistic methodologies in the design of spaces of communication are developed and explored in various scales and contexts. Spatial structures are thus understood in their multidimensionality and materiality as specific systems of spatial communication. Our new website is now online, including informations about 'Raumklasse', students, teaching staff - and first and foremost a selection of all projects and exhibitions. Through our website we will also announce upcoming events, talks, workshops etc. on a frequent basis.

Seven invited artists developed individual artistic concepts for the ‚Radeberger Brache‘, a rural and protected landscape in the south of the city of Cologne, Germany. The works were materialized through individual artistic investigations and realized through the medium of printed matter.

Die in diesem Buch dokumentierte Auswahl studentischer Arbeiten am Lehr- und Forschungsgebiet „Gestaltungslehre – Räumlich-Plastische Gestaltung“ an der Peter Behrens School of Arts der Hochschule Düsseldorf steht für eine experimentelle und prozesshafte Auseinandersetzung mit dem Medium Raum. Die in Ausschnitten gezeigten Arbeiten aus den Jahren 2012 bis 2018 geben in ihrer Vielfalt einen Einblick in die Aktivitäten in der Lehre.

A series of artistic experiments during an artist residency at Nida Art Colony in 2018 explored the notion of ‚nature‘ and landscape as a ‚museum‘. Through experimental displays, performative body objects and spatial installations my intention was to explore the landscape as a social and cultural construct. How can space, performative objects through form, materiality, color and geometry become mediators for experimental spatial communication?

Students approached selected objects from the collection's holdings of the Düsseldorf municipal museum, using the principle of dialogue to formulate design statements in a variety of media. The dialogues were conducted in spatial, graphical, filmic, performative and objective modes. In order to make the various levels of meaning accessible, the resulting works were shown in juxtaposition with the originals and set in relation to the spatial context of the museum setting itself.

Gustavs Park in Essen is both invitation and fiction. The overgrown fallow land behind the Zeche Carl in Altenessen takes on a new identity, yet its new name harks back to another time.

Artists discover and reinvent the history of the industrial area, which has since been renaturated. They open up new perspectives and relationships for its local residents in their urban park through wary interventions and participatory sculptures in public space.

The spatial installation of Anxious Prop Case 5 is about an ever expanding collective immersion in identically reproducible things.
